Case Study - Rock Memorabilia
Around £1.5 million of rock memorabilia was rescued after fire swept through the Hard Rock
Café in London.
But swift action from the fire service and ISS Damage Control specialist ensured that the
irreplaceable items escaped with little more than smoke damage and were fully restored
within just four weeks of the fire.
A fire, which began in the rear of the building, had caused extensive damage to the kitchen
and the restaurant area of the café with severe smoke damage throughout. It was agreed that
the café would undergo a full refurbishment.
"We could not deploy the usual chemicals in decontaminating any of these items because
many were signed by their original owners. We had been extremely careful in handling and
cleaning them and we brought in a specialist memorabilia restorer to assist us." - ISS Damage
